   Here I sit on my couch, in the dark, with my kitty sitting above me, and my family snoozing in different rooms, while I sit at my computer wide-eyed at 3:54 AM, once again! Uggh! why does 3 in the morning the morning have to keep coming, day after day? And why does it seem to like me so much. This is getting really old.
   So what do I do when I wake up in the middle of the night. Well, first, I try to get back to sleep. But of course, that is usually futile, so the next thing I do is scrounge around in the dark looking for my slippers, then I pad into the living room, and greet my kitty, who is usually snoozing on top of the couch. That usually gets his motor going, as he is real happy to see anyone who will give him attention in the middle of the night. Then I get myself comfy with the laptop on my lap, of course, turn it on, and wait to start my ritual of using the net to make me sleepy once again. I check my emails, and am not surprised to find it mostly empty. (since most every other sane person is tucked snug in their bed, not wanting to converse with anyone except the sand man at this ungodly hour)
   Next I check my messages on facebook, make a few comments at dsp, check to see if there are any new LOL kitties posted at I canhascheezeburger.com, and sometimes if I'm still too awake by then, I check the news, weather, and whatever else I can find. Sound fun? Not really. I think I'm going to invent a new bumper sticker and stick it on my computer. How does this sound? "I'd rather be sleeping!" Yeah, sleep... where art thou?

Alright, that's it! Sleep is once again eluding me, and I have decided that I'm just going to have to take advantage of being up between 3 and 4 in the morning, and become a late-night blogger. (why else am I up at such an ungodly hour, hmm?) So here I sit on the couch, with my laptop in front of me, and my kitty purring above my head, (on top of the couch) and my family snoozing in various rooms all around me. Sigh....wish I were one of the snoozers. My kitty seems to appreciate the nocturnal attention he gets from me, but I would so rather just stay in my warm bed getting some ZZZZs. I've always been a night-owl, but this is getting ridiculous! Ah well, greetings to all of you tucked snuggly in your beds, from one late-night blogger. Sweet dreams.....

A bit Melancoly today

    Well, after months of anticipation on our oldest daughter's part, and dread on mine, we finally got her packed up and delivered to the YWAM base (Youth with a Mission, a Christian outreach training program for short term mission trips.) in Minnesota, last night....sigh.... She'll be gone for 5 whole months, with graduation day on May 27th. I'm counting down the days, believe me.
   It was so hard leaving her there and coming home without her; seeing her car sitting in our driveway, knowing she won't be coming home tonight; waking up in the morning, seeing her empty bed....(nother sigh....) As you can tell, she is going to be so greatly missed at home, and I was quite down all morning, till my cell phone rang, and lo and behold it was her! What a difference just hearing her voice has made. I admit, I'm still a bit down, but not nearly as bad as before.
   When we got to the base, yesterday, we realized that she had forgotten her phone charger at home. So I wasn't sure if we were going to hear from her until after the charger reached her by mail sometime this week- that is why it was extra uplifting to hear from her this today.
   The good news is she is given three weekends off that she can come home. And the first one is in two weeks, the same time as my birthday- Woo Hoo! Seeing our daughter will definitely be the best gift I receive this year.

Well, now that the holiday bustle is over and real life has come knocking, I finally have a chance sit down and post a Happy New year hello to all of you. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.
We managed to survive it all. But the weather turned so cold this past weekend, that our water pipes ended up breaking, and my husband and youngest son had to spend most of yesterday fixing it out in the bitter cold. Not fun. The good news is, we are now set for life in piping, as the hardware store only so it in lengths of 20 ft. rather than just the 3 ft. we needed. Hopefully, though, the piping will just sit and collect dust from here on out, and that the pipes, which are now wrapped in brand new heat tape, will stay in tact from now on.

Winter Storm Warning

We here in Wisconsin are in the middle of a state-wide Winter Storm Warning....wait a sec... it's now been upgraded to a Blizzard Warning, Yikes! When's the last time we heard the word "blizzard" here in Wisconsin. I guess we're gonna have a white Christmas, afterall.

Here is a layout I recently made of our visit to the tree farm, last year. Brrrr.... makes me cold just looking at it. I think that calls for a nice tall cup of hot cocoa. Yeah, that's what I need.

Taking the Plunge

Hello, from the white winter world of Wisconsin. As you can see by the bareness of this page, this is my very first post in the world of blogging. Echo...echo..echo...Yep, pretty empty in here. But I hope to soon fill it up with my scrapbooking page ideas, and some of my own digital scrapbook designs.

My name is Renee, and I am a home schooling, digital scrapbooking, dabbling in digital designing, crafty mom of four, ages 20, 18 (soon to be 19- eek!) 16, and 14. Our two oldest have graduated, and after 14 years of home schooling, our youngest is now in highschool, and I only have four more years left to go! Hooray!

So welcome to my spot in the wide world of digital scrapbooking blogs. Glad to have you join me on my journey. :)
